Background:
The District was formed in 1984 as a group to coordinate our involvement with the organization
known as Junior Baseball Organization, Inc (JBO). This unique organization has existed for over
30 years with a mission to offer quality skill level and age appropriate baseball programs for
youth. JBO’s commitment to skill division leagues, right sized fields, use of high school rules,
and to an all bat / all play policy sets us apart from other organizations and programs. JBO is
committed to letting local areas have control over their process and organization as long as they
stay within the guidelines set by the state organization.
The JBO State Board reviews rules changes and league matrix guidelines, collects rosters and
fees, organizes the state tournaments and rules on all issues not covered by JBO rules. The JBO
Valley District board brings together representatives from local towns and organizations to
coordinate leagues, schedule games, monitor activities and exchange information to better our
organizations. Area representatives (from individual towns and organizations) meet monthly to
bring issues to the table, monitor compliance with JBO rules, etc.
Purpose and Goals of the Valley District
The Members of the Valley District agree to come together under the auspices of Junior Baseball
Organization, Inc (JBO) to administer and coordinate youth baseball in our area. It is our belief
that member organizations will receive benefits for their community such as; resource and
information sharing, matched league play, increased community awareness, social inter-action
for all participants, and mutual support for youth programs.
